The Steampacket Inn was originally built in the early 1850’s however back then it was known as 'The Steam Packet Hotel', a very popular watering hole with rivermen and stevedores due to its close proximity to the wharf.

Today it is a National Trust Classified unique boutique Bed & Breakfast which can accommodate up to 24 guests including children, yes we are child friendly.

Its central location means you can park the car and walk everywhere, you are close to all the action and facilities our town has to offer.

 

From the 1st floor you are able to view the activities on the river and the wharf. Wake up to the sound of the steamboat whistles, and then enjoy a fully cooked breakfast in the tearoom where meals are served on fine china just like grandma use to have.

After breakfast take a stroll through the historic port, meander down by the river and relax or have a browse through our shops.
